On the most beautiful hills of Abruzzo, between the Adriatic sea and the Majella mountain, the “Sarchese Tommaso” farm was born. Our farm is located in “Villa Sarchese” in the Ortona area, in the province of Chieti and in the Abruzzo region, the region that was nominated in the nineties as being the “Green region of Europe”.

This region with its strategic territorial position, being in the vicinity of both the sea and the mountains, which creates a favourable climate for the cultivation of vineyards and olive groves, is the home of one of the best and most appreciated Italian wines in the world: “Montepulciano d’Abruzzo” “Trebbiano D’Abruzzo”.

Conscious of this natural heritage, Sarchese Tommaso and his family from the onset, subsequently followed by their collaborators, brought forward an agricultural and food tradition, which is being perpetuated by several generations, who place authenticity and quality before anything else.

Quality and authenticity have been foremost in the mind of this company since the beginning of the production process, with the aim of preserving the experience of tradition on the one hand, and on the other hand, keeping in mind those innovative and environmentally-friendly methodologies and the final products i.e. wine and olive oil.

Just to emphasize this line of thought throughout the wine and oil companies’ world, this company created a new product line, and gave it a name that reflects the beliefs of the Sarchese family and his team: NAZZARENI. With this name we wanted, in a certain sense, to put forward the concepts for which, at the beginning of the nineteenth century, a group of artists joined together to rebel against the academic and classicism thoughts on art aspiring to renew the way of thought.

This name was given to them as a derisory term because their way of protest had very different ways and methods from the habits and customs of the time. Later they gathered in Rome with the aim of guiding art back on to the path of truth.

From these one of the first forms of historical and literary tendency called “Romanticismo” originated.
What persuaded us to call our products with a similar name, but not exactly the same as the Nazareni, was the fact that that we believe in growing wine with a sense of responsibility and truth and endeavor to put love into each act of the process aimed at making wine and oil but, above all, we aim to focus on revamping the sector and the product.

We “protest” against the production of wine and oil as an “assembly chain”, which focuses only on numbers rather than on what is being produced, and forgets, above all, those who actually consume the product. We are fighting this because our priority is always towards the consumer.

Putting into practice these concepts, we created four lines of wines and olive oils calling them NAZZARENI and VASILEVA. We are tremendously proud of them and invite everyone to try our products.
